Mt Rainier

Tonight, I went to work with Jeremy to Yakima. As we drove over the pass, I took these pictures of Mt Rainier.

Getting some good soccer advice

Tyler's coach had a little closing ceremony circle with the kids where he told them how important sports are and to stay active and eat healthy.

Don't mess with my food!

Jeremy had soccer camp from 9-12 and Tyler was 12:30-2, so we packed a lunch and hung out in between. We hung out in the back of the car trying to avoid the sun.

Time to say Goodbye

Friday is always a sad day when we have to say goodbye to the coaches, so in traditon it's picture time. Here are pictures of Jeremy and Tyler with their coaches.

Fun Time!!

The last hour of soccer camp consists of the parents coming out for not only a closing ceremony where the kids get prizes and their shirts, but where the parents are invited to participate and made fun of in some off the wall tasks.

This year you had to bunny hop the ball out to a cone and then put the cone to your forehead and run around the ball ten times and then dribble back all dizzy. 3 teams of kids and 1 parent team. I am sure you know the outcome here but I will spell it out for you. The kids were done about 5 minutes before the parents and the kids had 2 extra players!!

Here are some pictures of Jeremy and JJ participating.

Dylan and Tyler on the slide

Dylan wasn't too keen on going down, but he liked to climb up. So, he wasn't too excited to be in this position.

I am not a motorcycle chick, but....

Orange County Choppers make the coolest bikes I have ever seen!! Not only are the Dad and sons entertaining, they have awesome skills and come up with the greatest ideas and have such imagination.
They recently made a bike for Lance Armstrong who is so awesome in his own right! He definitely deserved it.
Here is the website if you want to check it out:

They have other them bikes (911, I robot). If you go to their website you can check them out.

Dylan being a boy

Dylan watched Jeremy climb up the slide and knew he was going to do it. He made it most of the way up by himself. Jeremy and Marcus followed, but they didn't help much.

Tyler's first day of soccer!!

Tyler at the soccer fields almost ready to go. Missing his shinguards and crazy socks. He was excited and spent the whole morning asking when it was his turn.

Matt and I haven't had our picture together for a while. I talked Matt out of his WSU hat. Couldn't have that in the picture.

The Lanka Family - the side full of boys

Its a funny thing about the Lanka family - its full of boys. Jen is the only living girl to be born with the Lanka name since my Grandfather. I had a cousin Khara, but she died shortly after birth. My Grandma had three sons, my uncle John and his wife Jan had three boys, My uncle Bob had Aaron and Khara, and my dad had Matt and I. So, I shouldn't have been so surprised to have 3 boys.

Here is a picture of the family minus my Aunt Jan who was tired and at the hotel (elevation change) and my three cousins Ben, Chris, and David. You bunch of slackers. And of course, my grandpa who died in 1997, but he was there in spirit - I know.
From Left to Right is my Aunt Shiela, Uncle Bob, Cousin Aaron, Uncle John, Grandma Edna, Jeremy and I and the boys, my brother Matt, stepmom Debby, and my dad Tom behind us.
