Seattle to Bremerton Ferry

On Saturday, the 18th of August, we decided on a whim to camp at Sol Duc Hot Springs on the Olympic Penninsula. Jen had a meeting in the morning, so I took Ellie and Elaysha and went to my meeting and then took the ferry from Seattle to Bremerton to meet up with the boys. Boy was that a challenge getting that stroller around on the ferry!!

Jen and Amanda partying it up....sort of

Jen and Amanda at the Texas Roadhouse Bar in Billings MT. We met up and spent the day at Rituals spa having pedicures, massage, facials, and sitting in the steam room. We, also, went to JCPenney's and had our hair done.
We spent two nights at the Ramada and went shopping and just spent time without kids and husbands.

Oh Yeah!

Dylan took right to his new spiderman bicycle. He put the helmet on and within a few minutes he had those pedals figured out and was all over the park.

And the road was formed...

The bags lit the way for all of us to walk in the middle of the night. To tell cancer that even as night as fallen our spirit can't be broken.

And nightfall came...

As nightfall came, we lit the luminary bags to light the way through the night. Relay is in honor of Jeremy's mom, Molly, so we made some bags in her honor.

Team Fire

This was our relay team this year. Jeremy, Jen, Jeremy Jr, Tyler, Dylan, Jeremy's grandma Frances, Jeremy's brother Paul, and Jen's parents, Tom and Debby. We had a little rain, but survived and by event time it had cleared up and we had a good night.

It's a family affair

Marilyn Hash or mama Hash as everyone calls her cutting her granddaughter's hair for the locks of love. It was one of those moments when everyone wants to shed a tear. A few years ago, her grandson shaved his head for Marilyn so she wouldn't be the only one without hair. It was great.

Locks of Love

The girls cut their hair to donate to the locks of love. An organization that is part of Pantene that takes the hair - turns it into a nice wig and returns them to the American Cancer Society to give out as part of their road to recovery program.

The Mayor

Here we have the Mayor, John Wise, Pat Kollen, Linda Wise (Mayor's wife) and Tom Hassenaur (Jeremy's old soccer coach).
Starting to feel like a small world.

And those Jolly Ranchers!

Here in front is my neighbor Jen and her son Zachery. Zach and Jeremy went to preschool together 4 years ago. Then, two years ago we bought the house across the street from them.

Dad to the rescue

Then, it was dad to the rescue. Jeremy carried Jeremy and Tyler off the mini island cause those waves coming in were a little intimidating. Sunday, we went back when the tide was out and played again. There were a few other big rocks exposed to play on too.

One Quick Pose

So, the boys decided to get one quick pose and then they better get off before the tide comes in any further.

Happy Uncle Jeremy Day!

Jeremy with Ellieanna and Elaysha down at the beach. The girls did okay camping. They slept as normal. They kind of hard a time going to sleep, but tiredness finally overtook them and they fell asleep. The second night, they figured it out and went to bed. They rode around in the stroller and the backpacks all weekend and seemed to survive. They did recognize their stuff when we got home though.
