The first weekend in December, we rented a house in Leavenworth, WA and got away for the weekend. They have a big city wide lighting festival every weekend in Dec. They light the trees and then one by one all the buildings turn on their lights. It was a fun evening. The boys had a snowball fight in the street, they got to see Santa and just had a blast. It snowed pretty hard for a little while which was a special treat as it doesn't do that too often around here.

On Saturday, the 18th of August, we decided on a whim to camp at Sol Duc Hot Springs on the Olympic Penninsula. Jen had a meeting in the morning, so I took Ellie and Elaysha and went to my meeting and then took the ferry from Seattle to Bremerton to meet up with the boys. Boy was that a challenge getting that stroller around on the ferry!!

Jen and Amanda at the Texas Roadhouse Bar in Billings MT. We met up and spent the day at Rituals spa having pedicures, massage, facials, and sitting in the steam room. We, also, went to JCPenney's and had our hair done.
We spent two nights at the Ramada and went shopping and just spent time without kids and husbands.

Marilyn Hash or mama Hash as everyone calls her cutting her granddaughter's hair for the locks of love. It was one of those moments when everyone wants to shed a tear. A few years ago, her grandson shaved his head for Marilyn so she wouldn't be the only one without hair. It was great.

The girls cut their hair to donate to the locks of love. An organization that is part of Pantene that takes the hair - turns it into a nice wig and returns them to the American Cancer Society to give out as part of their road to recovery program.

They kind of hard a time going to sleep, but tiredness finally overtook them and they fell asleep. The second night, they figured it out and went to bed. They rode around in the stroller and the backpacks all weekend and seemed to survive. They did recognize their stuff when we got home though.

This is looking out from the hiking trail to the bridge towards the ocean. There are campsites all up on that hill and this is only one side of the beach you can play on. The park goes around the corner to another beach. For 300 campsites, we surely felt alone most of the time we were there.

Father's day at Deception Pass

For father's day weekend, we headed up to Whidbey Island with our trailer and did some camping. We camped at Deception Pass State Park. It's a really neat park. Ocean on two sides, this great bridge, rocks to climb on, a lake you can rent boats on, and tons and tons of hiking trails. The weather wasn't to warm, but we did have some sunbreaks here and there.

We met Jen's family at Tumwater state park on June 2nd. Her cousins, Amy, James and Aaron with wives, Julia and Julia with all of their kids - Robbie and Ezekial, Jackson and Lucy, Jayden and Jezurich. Then, her aunt, Dad and our boys and the girls.
We played at the park for a few hours and got caught up with all thats been going on.

Jeremy took 6 of his friends and his two brothers to laser quest for his birthday. They go in a blacklight maze and shoot eachother with lasers. They get a print out when they are done with all their stats on them. They had a great time. Way too much fun. Jeremy and I were a little overwhelmed with 8 boys and Dylan and the twins, but we made it through without losing anyone.

Auburn Relay for Life

On May 18th, we visited the Relay for Life in Auburn where the message was clear. HOPE. That's why we are all there. Hope for the future. We packed up all 5 kids, got a little rained on, but had a great time.

We took one with the girls as they are a part of our lives right now. They actually stopped crying just long enough for us to get this photo. They did not like getting out of their clothes and putting these dresses on. It was really cold in the room we were in. And it was a little loud with other people getting ready for their photos. Boat Guts

Here is a picture of the interior of the boat. There are four seats in the middle there and then there are two on each side of the motor across the back. In the center there is the door for the cuddy cabin. It just needs a little vacuuming and a thorough cleaning. The pads in the cabin need to be replaced, but all in all we are pleased with our deal.

This has been a long standing joke in the Watts household thanks to Aaron. And well all the joking finally led to us buying a boat. We always said we would buy a boat, but sometime in the future. Well, we found an offer we couldn't refuse. $850. And yes it really does float. It has a 140 Mercruiser engine in it. We actually went to look at another boat and didn't like it and the guy said he had another in storage and well here we are. It was in our driveway the same day. Its been sitting for several years, so it needs some cleanup. But for the most part its in very good condition. Jeremy bought a shop manual for the engine last week and hopes to have it fined tuned by summer vacation.

A day in Seattle

Most of you don't know, but Sat April 21st our work van was stolen from the Tukwila cartoys while the crew was inside working. The Tukwila police found it early Sunday morning and nicely impounded it for us. Not a lot of damage was done to the van. The older man stole the battery charger and the inverter and he left a bunch of junk in it, but for the most part everything was still in tact. He did take the time to scratch all our business logos off of it. Which made us mad, cause we just were getting used to them, but all in all we were out $500 or so dollars with the impound fees. So, Sun we decided that we were just going to have a Watts family day. I think it might be the 2nd time all year, we just let everything go and went to Seattle. Jeremy recovered the van from downtown and we went and walked the pier and Pike's Place. The girls were with us in their stretch limo (just not in the picture). We went to dinner at the Crab Pot. Very very good seafood. We called this our anniversary day since we didn't get one. We got some ice cream after dinner and just had a nice afternoon. The sun was shining and it was warm.

In February, we made it official. Dylan and Tyler would have seperate rooms. We drew a line down the center of the big room, put in some 2x4's and some sheetrock and within a week, they had seperate bedrooms.
This has been a great addition to the peace and quiet of the house. Bedtime is a breeze now. And Tyler doesn't have to have his little brother pestering him any longer. This is the first time Tyler has had a room to himself, so he is enjoying it.

Jeremy and his brother Paul have had their ups and downs. In fact lately its been down for over a year, but they reunited with a little arm wrestling at Grandma's party. Paul never did get Jeremy down. He tried really hard though.

She wants her picture with them all the time and she feeds them, changes their diapers, and plays toys with them. The girls were a month and a week old. Ellie has all the hair. Elaysha fell asleep right after this and was just out.

Star Wars in Portland

On Dec 22nd, we ventured down to Portland Oregon to go to the Museum of Science and Industry to see the Star Wars exhibit. It was there to show how robots are changing the world and improving everyday life. They had a whole bunch of props from the movie though. And yes I am going to post them in the next few blogs. Jeremy and Tyler have been begging to take their bikes to the bike park. Its just a bunch of hills. The older boys can actually jump them. So, here is Jeremy trying to get over the hump. They went to slow at first and couldn't make it over, but once they did it - there was no stopping them.
